About Us

Lighthouse SDA Christian School is the mission of the Fort Morgan SDA Church in Fort Morgan, Colorado. It began in 2014 with principal/teacher Jodie Aakko as a single multi-grade classroom; a safe place for students to grow academically, spiritually, physically and socially.

Now in its seventh year, Lighthouse has three classrooms full of happy students. Financially supported by the Fort Morgan, Akron, Sterling, and Yuma SDA Churches, students come from Akron, Brush, and Fort Morgan to receive excellent Christian Education.

Lighthouse is active in the community and believes in giving back. Some of the projects the students participate in include food and supply drives for Baby Bear Hugs, painting rocks with cheerful pictures and hiding them around town, visits to retirement homes, and baking cookies to take to the local police department. Every month a Bible Lab service project is planned to encourage students to be God’s light to others.
